Meet the team
Early Years Manager
I am passionate about outdoor play and learning. I love working in early years where I feel like I can make a difference to the lives of the children in my care.
I have had the opportunity over the 25 years of my career to work in various different early years environments.
I lived in Australia with my husband and three children for 11 years and relocated back to the UK last year. Whilst there I worked as a teacher’s assistant and as an early years lead gaining a wealth of valuable experience.
Early Years Deputy Manager
I have been working in child care for over 8 years and enjoy every aspect of my job.
I'm extremely passionate about providing a nurturing environment for all children to learn and develop self confidence and social skills.
I love nothing more than planning exciting and engaging activities for the children on a daily basis.
Early Years Practitioner
I started working at Winchcombe Playgroup as an apprentice in 2013 and completed my levels 2 and 3 here.
I was given the opportunity to stay and I am now Key Worker in Red Base.
I love being part of the playgroup setting, getting to know all the different personalities makes every day worthwhile!
Early Years Practitioner
I have been qualified in childcare for 18 years and previously worked in a nursery.
I have four children of my own and am really looking forward to being part of the Playgroup team.
I enjoy seeing children learn and develop on a daily basis and look forward to continuing that through exciting activities and play.
I started working at Playgroup in 2011 when my son started school, Before that, I worked in banking for 20 years.
I deal with the Playgroup's finances and administration, process the new starter registrations, organise the session request and funding forms and keep the office up to date.
Early Years Practitioner
I have worked with pre-school children for many years as a childminder. Over the last 9 years I worked at a special needs nursery for 0-5 year olds and have gained experience with children of varying needs.
I enjoy encouraging children to learn through play and as I am a gardener I like to share my passion for nature in outdoor play.
I started working as a volunteer when my eldest daughter was in the setting 10 years ago. I continued as bank staff and am now part of the permanent team.
I love working with all of the children and feel passionately about helping them to enjoy their time at Playgroup and watching them grow and learn.
I teach French at Playgroup being qualified in delivering the 'la Jolie Ronde' programme.
I have lived and worked in Spain, France and the USA before moving to the UK.
To cover staff holidays, sickness and training days, we have a wonderful and dedicated bank of temporary staff. Our temps are well known at playgroup and loved by all the children.
If you are interested in joining our bank of temporary staff, please contact us.
We work closely with Worcester College as a base for their student placements. We also offer apprenticeship placements, and offer a wealth of experience and support for those building a career in childcare.
We are very fortunate to have some ladies and gentlemen who, in their retirement, generously give us their time.
They are invaluable in helping out at lunchtimes, doing odd jobs and gardening, or by sitting and listening to the children and their stories. The children love our volunteers and some wonderful bonds are formed.
This means we have a very diverse team, which meets
the needs of our community on many levels.
Early Years Foundation Stage Framework
Winchcombe Playgroup follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
A child’s time at playgroup takes part in a very important stage in their development. So, as well as helping them get ready for school, we help prepare them for their future learning and successes.
To help you find out more about how your child learns and develops during their first five years, in relation to the EYFS and how you can support this, please read the What To Expect, When guide.
The early years experience should be happy, active, exciting, fun and secure – and we are here to help support their development, their care and their learning needs.
Find out more about the EYFS, and how you can help with your child’s learning in this Parent’s Guide to EYFS Framework.
Winchcombe Playgroup is a registered charity and fundraising is essential to keep it up and running.
We have a fundraising committee to organise events and activities which help to raise money for a wide range of projects, including recently the outdoor canopy and a new play kitchen for the children.
If you would like to raise any money through sponsorship, a coffee morning, or any other event, or would like to join our fundraising committee, please do get in touch.
